Weapons

This is the list of weapons in RE3. Old favorites such as the knife and pistol make (as usual) an appearance. Capcom also boasted new additions to the arsenal section providing some real cool weaponry as a result.

Special thanks go to Anders Svensson (ICQ UIN - 48486095) for sending me the translated weapon names.

Knife   N/A
Knife   The old and indispensable knife. This weapon can be considered as the worst weapon the all the Evils so far. Its range is extremely up-close and besides, you need plenty of room to kill one zombie cause you'll be forced to pull back after every single hit. Avoid it.

M92F Custom Handgun 9mm Handgun Bullets / Black Taurus Bullets (to be used with Reload Tool) Mag: 15 Bullets
Custom Handgun   Another basic weapon, the handgun can probably be one of the most weapons the player is likely to use. There are loads of ammo for the pistol and it holds a considerable amount of bullets in it. Its not the most reliable weapon around but you'll love it if you want to play a bit more with the zombies before you finish them off.

Benelli M3S Shotgun 12 Gauge Shotgun Shells / Special M3S Shells (to be used with Reload Tool) Mag: 7 Shells
Shotgun   A very powerful weapon which can bring down groups of enemies in a matter of seconds. The only drawback is the huge reload time between each shot and the fact that its only effective when in close range. You'll also use this often and apart from that, you can deform zombies creating some real amusing scenes.

HK-p Grenade Launcher Explosive / Acid / Flame / Ice Rounds Mag: 6 Rounds
Grenade Launcher   A definite alternative for the shotgun. The grenade launcher can be loaded with various ammo like in the previous outing for different gory effects. Since ammo is a little thin on the ground, the grenade launcher is better saved for nemesis encounters. It can be fitted with grnade, flame, acid and ice rounds.

S&W M629C Magnum 44 Magnum Bullets Mag: 6 Bullets
Magnum   The same model as in the original RE, this powerful weapon returns in RE3 exactly the same as before. It can bring down enemies with one or two shots but be warned; bullets for this beauty are rare.

M66 Rocket Launcher - This beast will make an apearence too but this time as a standard weapon. 1 shot fired from this monster kills anything. Its available in the bonus subgame too so rock on.   Rocket Launcher

Mine Thrower   Mine Thrower Mines Mag: 6 mines
Mine Thrower   This weapon basicly fires a small mine (dart) towards the enemy and after 3 seconds it then explodes in a shower of guts. Players are advised to keep away from the blast...
Custom Shotgun   Western Custom Shotgun - This is what happens to your shotgun when you fit the Shotgun parts A and B which of course, you have to pick them up from Nemesis. In my opinion this weapon has the coolest reload animation in RE history. It has a small recoil and can empty 6 shells faster than the Benelli.

Mag: 6 Shells

STi Eagle 6.0   Sigpro SP2009   M4A1 Rifle   Gatling Gun

The Eagle 6.0 can be constructed by combining Eagle Parts A with Eagle Parts B which can be picked up from Nemesis after the first 2 encounters (that is, if you choose to fight). Its a great alternative to the M92 handgun: it fires at a faster pace, can take out zombie's heads thus saving ammo, has a greater manoverability and uses standard pistol ammo. -- Can only be used in Heavy Mode -- Initial equipping for Carlos. The Sigpro is basicly the same as the M92F Handgun and doesn't pack a mean punch. Use it only for saving other weapon's ammo. You will begin the game with this if you choose Light Mode. The rifle resembles greatly RE2's machinegun but its far more cool. It ammo on a basis of % and can be effective against almost every enemy, especially hunters. You can set the pulse rate on ither Auto or Manual for saving ammo. Manual fires 3 shots on every trigger press. coming soon

I will add more details on these weapons asap.

You couldn't find enough bullets in the previous RE? No problem, cause now Capcom introduced this new item : the Reload Tool.

The idea is to use Gun Powder (available in 3 variations - red, yellow and blue) in order to obtain ammo for the Pistol, Shotgun and Grenade Launcher respectively. You do not need other extras; just the powder and your brain. Depending on the ammount of powder and combination, you get the bullets as shown in the diagram above (in light mode you are awarded twice the ammount). This device works in a similar way as Dino Crisis's MIX command. Note that the RT is a protable item.
